Processing of patient data in the practice

In connection with the provision of our dental services, the practice may collect personal data itself, obtain it from third parties, store it and process it, at all times in compliance with the applicable data protection rules. Where permitted by law, where the practice has overriding interests or where consent has been given, we process personal data in particular for the following purposes:

  • to verify the requirements for entering into a treatment contract;
  • to fulfil our contractual obligations towards our patients, in particular for the treatment contract and the statutory documentation in a paper or electronic patient record, for billing with social insurers and private payers (where applicable through a billing service provider) and for the production of dentures (where applicable through a dental laboratory);
  • to maintain, develop and preserve the patient relationship, for example for appointment reminders;
  • for invoicing, debt collection and credit checks;
  • to prevent unlawful use of our services.

In addition, we may process data of visitors to our website (see below), personal data relating to the practice’s business and official contacts, and personnel data for employment relationships and payroll accounting (where applicable through a payroll office).

Involvement of third parties and professional secrecy

The practice may involve third parties in Switzerland and abroad in data processing, for example dental laboratories as well as billing and IT service providers. In doing so, we only pass on the data that the third party needs to fulfil the contractual obligations towards the patients. All health data is additionally subject to dental professional secrecy (Art. 321 of the Swiss Criminal Code). We keep patient records in accordance with the statutory retention periods.

Server log data

When you visit this website, the hosting provider automatically stores technical data in log files, such as IP address, date and time of access, pages visited, browser type and operating system. This data serves the correct delivery of content, operational security, troubleshooting and the defence against attacks on the IT infrastructure. It is not merged with other data sources and is deleted once no longer needed.

No cookies, no tracking

This website uses no cookies for analytics or advertising and no statistics services such as Google Analytics. The only exception is the embedded Google Maps map (see below). Only your language choice (German/English) is stored locally in your browser; this information never leaves your device.

Contact and appointment requests

If you contact us by phone, e-mail or via the appointment form, we use your details exclusively to process and answer your request. They are not passed on to third parties for other purposes. The form transmits your details over an encrypted connection to our web server, which forwards them by e-mail to our practice address; the details are not stored on the server.

Please note: e-mail is not a confidential transmission channel. Do not send sensitive medical information this way. For protected exchange with professionals we use the secure HIN platform.

Google Maps and external links

A Google Maps map is embedded in the contact area. When the map is displayed, a connection to Google servers is established; among other things, your IP address is transmitted and Google may set cookies. Google's privacy provisions apply. This website also contains links to external services; when you use them, the provisions of the respective provider apply.

Your rights

Under the Data Protection Act you have in particular the right to information about the data processed about you, and to its correction or deletion. To exercise your rights, please contact the controller named above.
